A better ward is Possible

Chigozie is fighting for a West Ward that works for everyone. Together, we can advance a bold set of policies that will reshape our local economy, redevelop our neighborhoods, and reduce violence and harm. Our platform was built in community with residents and stakeholders in the West Ward, but it is only a start. We invite everyone to contribute. If you have suggestions, please e-mail them to info@chigozieonyema.com.

A better west ward For every family ➞

Improving Quality of Life

Chigozie will form a West Ward Quality of Life Task Force to coordinate efforts between the Department of Public Works and residents to identify and abate problem properties and unkept corridors.

Re-imaging Public Safety

Chigozie will prioritize funding and resources for social services and community development in the most challenging neighborhoods, while treating violence as a public health issue.

Advancing Economic Justice

Chigozie will fight for equitable and inclusive economic development in every part of Newark. As our city grows, residents deserve good jobs and increased voice, power, and ownership.
